Our vision is a better future for everyone in our community.

Assistance League of the Eastside is an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization that puts caring and commitment into action. Our community-based, philanthropic programs make a positive difference in the lives of children and adults touched by hardship or violence.

A message from our president

Thank you for your interest in Assistance League of the Eastside. We live in a busy world with so many choices as to how we spend our time, energy, and money.  Many of us would love to have an impact on the societal issues that concern us, but we just don’t know where to start.

Since becoming a member in 2011, I have experienced the joy and satisfaction of giving to local families in need. I have found their personal stories to be more complex than I had ever imagined. Often, through no fault of their own, our neighbors find themselves without the resources they need to clothe their children, deal with the trauma of assault or domestic violence, or cope with the overwhelming circumstance of homelessness.

Today you have the opportunity to give these individuals the confidence, dignity, strength, and hope they need to thrive. We offer many ways to make a difference:

Join Us. Our members live and work in the communities we serve. We provide the kind of volunteer experience that allows you to see, first-hand, the joy on a child’s face who has just picked out a new pair of shoes. Volunteer options are varied and flexible. We make it easy to participate.

Donate.  Because we are an all-volunteer organization, we have no paid employees and low overhead. Since our chapter was founded in 1997, we have returned more than $4.5 million back to our neighbors in need. And, even though we are local, we have the support of National Assistance League. Last year, National Assistance League, consisting of 120 chapters, returned $38 million back to communities across the country.

Attend. Our signature fundraising events are one of our major sources of income, so please consider attending our Holiday Home Tour or Spring Event. Besides, what could be better than a fun-filled day out with friends that is also a force for good in our community?

Become a Community Partner. Are you looking for a way to get involved in your local community while raising visibility for your business? We have many opportunities for sponsorship. Consider partnering with us!

I hope you will join us in our efforts to make the Eastside a place of possibility for all those who live here.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Schmidt
